Approval for development projects implemented by Agrarian Development District Offices is monitored to achieve the following objectives of this Division. Accordingly, it is the responsibility of the division to manage the financial resources of the department by coordinating the activities of the district offices.
Services
- Co-ordinate all activities related to industries implemented under the Minor Irrigation Reform Program of the current year.
- All activities relating to building repairs, construction of new buildings, construction of fertilizer stores, obtaining industry related estimates, allocation of funds, preparation and submission of documents for procurement activities are carried out under this department through the allocation of the annual budget estimates.
- All necessary activities relating to the acquisition of lands required for the construction and development activities of the department and the requests made on the land belonging to the department.
- Coordinating all activities related to the National New Rice Festival.
- Coordinate the annual development programs under the Agrarian Development Fund and the Farmers' Trust Fund and implementation of the development projects undertaken by the Department through other institutions.
- Maintaining all the machinery repairs of the division and handling the provisions under the Expenditure Head.
- Maintaining cordial coordination with District Authorities regarding the requests made by the Public Office and the Political Authority on development works in addition to orders given by the Presidential Secretariat and the Prime Minister's Office.
Objective
- To contribute to upliftment of the national economy through the development of irrigation works for the betterment of agriculture.
- Enhance facilities for officers through repairs and construction of buildings and thereby provide more efficient and efficient services to the farmer community.
- For this purpose the division is functioning under the Commissioner of Agrarian Development and the total staff is as follows.

Mechanical Division
The Department is engaged in repairing and servicing machineries belonging to the department and these machineries are attached to five mechanical units conducted at district level. The machineries attached to each of the mechanical units are as follows,
